The third call of the ACORN Mentorship Programme is now open! The calls for this programme, targeted at PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, is opened every 6 months. The next cut-off date for the ACORN Mentoship Programme is 4th of October 2020.

ACORN Scholarship to attend international meetings – Results of the January 2020 call

The ACORN Scholarship for the attendance of international conferences January 2020 call closed on the 16th of January. The winner of this call is Barbara Sousa, PhD student at Gonçalo Bernardes lab, who is going to present her work at Chemical Biology 2020 EMBO Workshop. Congrats!

For iMMers, the next cut-off date for the ACORN Scholarship for the attendance of international conferences is the 16th January. Don’t miss the chance to attend an international scientific conference in 2020 and get the registration fee, travelling, accommodation and daily subsistence expenses covered.

ACORN Scholarship to attend international meetings

Carlos Labão, from Gonçalo Bernardes’s lab at iMM, won the June call of the ACORN scholarship for the attendance of international conferences!

He is going to present a poster on Carbon monoxide-releasing proteins in cancer immunotherapy at the 33rd Conference of the European Macrophage and Dendritic cell Society (EMDS), in Marseille, France. Well done Carlos!

João Seixas, from Gonçalo Bernardes’s lab at iMM, won the best poster award at the Joint Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry Frontiers, with the support of the ACORN Scholarship to attend international meetings!

1st Call of the ACORN Mentorship Programme

The first call of the ACORN Mentorship Programme selected Sandra Vaz, from Ana Sebastião’s lab as a mentoree. Sandra is a postdoctoral researcher and expects to improve her mentorship skills in order to become a PI. She also finds this is a great opportunity to improve her scientific network.

Her ACORN mentor will be Gonçalo Bernardes, PI both at iMM and at the University of Cambridge.
